Actually the fights do become more and more like DBZ as the series go by, relying less on strategy and more on youki/reiki as the deciding factor. Around as far back as Maze Castle, someone like Kuwabara who was a whole class lower than Byakko could possibly beat their opponent; Even if their opponent possesses more reiki/youki than them.
Oh, geeze, “the usual understatement.” I giggled. And also makes me wonder if at some point Yusuke could become strong enough to challenge King Yama’s might, if he keeps improving at that rate. …Scary.
