Episode Summary
Having rescued Yukina and defeated Toguro, Yusuke is spending some time with Keiko in the city. However, when a huge chunk of building is blown up, Yusuke sees Toguro, and they have a little chat. Turns out that Yusuke and Kuwabara really didn’t defeat the Toguro brothers, as they were faking and working for Sakyo, and now Toguro wants Yusuke to enter a competition called the “Dark Tournament”. Compiled of a group of greedy mafia warlords, Toguro convinces Yusuke, as Yusuke gathers Kurama, Hiei, and Kuwabara for his team, the gang sets out to compete in the tournament.

jmatt is right about this saying that in the final season that hiei and yukina are twins and that its a mother and father relationship when in normality it’s supposed to be that 100 years concieve child stuff in this episode hiei says that they have two separate mothers yet in the 4th season we find out that this is false get more up to date on ur yu yu hakusho lore mate
It’s not a translation error. They have the same mother and father. Hiei was just lying. It’s all explained in the last season. I would explain more but it’d be a spoiler.

@Jim, Loki, Leer, and Jordan. If you watch the finial season you will see Hiei dreaming of his past. There you find out they have the same mother. Hiei most likely told Yusuke they don’t have the same mother. Because he deep down he hates his mother for letting the Ice Demon Elders throw him from the mountain to kill him since he is a male and a fire demon. So he lied so Yusuke wouldn’t ask about his mother.

@Yabun it is not a translation error at the end they find out that Yukina has 2 mothers and Hiei has a mom and a dad.

Dudesthey have the same mother, but hiei was a male, and since the ice apparitions were an all FEMALE race(hiei is clearly not female you retards), since he was a male, the rest of his race made his mother throw him off the edge of their home and he barely survived(his mother was yukinas mother as well) and he was found and raised by a band of thieves, and lost his tear(the crystal the mother ice apparition cries only when giving birth, 1 4 each child, and got the jagan implanted to find his mothers tear, yukina, and the ice apparition home land where his guardianor whatever she was to himbut wasnt his mother since his mother killed herself watching hieis “death”, and the lady informs hiei that he had a twin, all of this is obvious and they could be faternal (not identical) twins, both born the same day, DUUUUUUUUHHHHHHH, ive watched al 112 episodes and both movies/specials of yu yu hakusho twice
it was the law of the ice apparitions to abandon any male children that they thought/knew would kill them and this is why they are an all female race

its a plot hole….later on you see they do indeed have the same mother and were born the same day. so they are indeed twins..it just so happened that since ice apparitions have a child every I think it said 2000 year(course it could more or less) and there are no men also there are no male children unless they break one of the laws and leave there safe haven and go with a man and come back.
hiei and yukina ARE twins. in the ice village place that yukina comes from, there are only females. and every 100 years a female concieves a child w/o a male. since hiei and yukina’s mother concieved through sex with a male, she concieved a male child (hiei) and at the same time yukina making them twins.
