Season 4
Spirit World is under water after an abnormally powerful tsunami hits. Koenma gives Botan a strange item to give to Yusuke. However, she is badly injured during her trip from Spirit World to Human World, and is unable to tell Yusuke something very important. Meanwhile, a great evil is beginning to rise, and a new world is revealed, the Netherworld. Spirit World is now flooded, and Yusuke and the crew must find the five elemental sites to restore Spirit World. There are some powerful opponents standing in their way, however. As Yusuke must fight the king of the Netherworld, Hiei must battle with a god who also has a Jagan eye, Kurama must confront someone from his past, and Kuwabara has to defeat a god who can copy his every move. The fight to save Spirit World begins…

If your wondering why the voices of the characters were changed its becouse Funimation did not acquire the rights to the series until 2001,the films were dubbed and released in North America by two separate companies.

This movie succs the voic actors are not the same as the ones from the tv show and the movie is set befor the last episode. what kind of stupid joke are they trying to pull i dont care if the movei is good overall but i just cant bring myself to watch this whithout the originall voice cast.

The FUNimation voice cast is just so great, I can’t STAND this Terrible cast… even though I love the series Dubbed, I HAVE to watch this movie subtitled because it’s just so bad… they even call Kuwabara “Kuwahara”…

honestly i can understand the new voice actors even though i can here them sucking from here but they had to change the writers to becouse the lines they used dont match the charecters personalities from the show at all

Oh God, this is so bad…someone should just rip the japanese DVD version and do a fan sub…are there any communities that take fan sub requests? Cuz, if there are, someone should definately ask for this movie to be done, so that fans wont have to listen to this auful crap

I agree with you all. I couldn’t stand the voices at all. it only took me like 5 min to say im not watching this but im going to try a second time to try and watch it because the story line sounds interesting.

this movie was awesome. i know that the voice acting is different but the anime is good. take it for what it is. a good anime movie based on a great anime show.

I remember watching yu yu hakusho in the philippines with filipino voices. it’s way different and the names were different too. yusuke was eugene, hiei was vincent, kurama was dennis, kuwabara was alfred. koenma was master jericho. hahaha!! I stumbled upon this website, it was wierd for me to watch because the voices threw me off, but i got use to it. Now with these movies, the voices threw me off as well. they picked horrible actors for the voices. ugh. it was hard to adjust. i love the movie tho.
Hated this cause of the voices. The ones that did it cant act worth a crap. All these movies did was put the tv series to shame. The story lines were good but that is all i can say to the plus side. They need to come out with something that shows what goes on after the last episode and everyone is stronger.

You guys should watch the abridged version of this movie…Lanipator does the movie justice, while at the same time making of the horrible voice acting. It’s hilarious! Lanipator….you rock!

I just watched the video and it is the funniest thing in the world. Yusuke sounds like a pussy, they keep getting everyone’s name wrong, and what the hell was “No Kuwabara you rest where you are my friend” Yusuke would never say that. He would be like “You can’t even move so just stay put” or something like that. What the hell is with Kurama’s and Hiei’s voice!?

at least the guys who made the abridged episodes had enough sense to get the voices as close to the anime as possible. unlike the people who dubbed the movies.

Ok, as horrible as the voice-overs were, this was actually a REALLY good movie! I mean, this has got to be the first time they all beat the bad guy TOGETHER rather than just letting Yusuke do it, and their combined attack was wicked awesome!
If you’re havin trouble with the subs, I would suggest watching the previously suggested abridged version as you go along with this one…it adds enough humor to make it bearable.

what is wrong with you people. who cares about the crappy voices and the stupid name mess ups. what about how crappy the movie was, which made no sense, the awkward pauses (like when they say, “lets split up…………….), and how lame everybody is in this movie. i think the makers of this should be ashamed of their selves and preform some suicide ritual.

Lanipator and his boys make the entire Yu Yu Hakusho series funny (as seen on youtube). I am a Huuuge fan of the series itself as i was Kuwabara 2 holloweens straight, but they did a good job with the voices, better than the makers of the show…

Even though the voice acting isnt really good, i think they did a better job in this movie than the other one. and also since they did this before the series they didnt really know what the series voices sounded like.
besides all of the guys, especially kuabara sounding like a bunch of douche bags, it was a really good movie, and most of the lines didnt sound much like the characters would have used in the series, didnt like koenmas or genkais voices either, i watched the pioneer production of dbz the worlds strongest, and the remastered one, n i dont mind the difference
It’s possible Yakumo isn’t dead. He survived before, after all. Though without that orb, he now stands no chance even if he were to rise again.
Of all the voice actors in the movies, Genkai’s grates on me the most. She usually sounds genuinely-old-but-awesome, now she sounds like a teen putting on an old voice.
Ugh, these voice actors are terrible. I wish Funimation had dubbed this soooo much.
